French Bulldog Health Guarantee

My 4-Year French Bulldog Genetic & Congenital Replacement Guarantee

At Must Be Frenchies, I understand that bringing home a French Bulldog puppy is a long-term commitment. That is why every puppy I place is backed by my written Four-Year Genetic & Congenital Replacement Guarantee.

My guarantee is one part of my commitment to the puppies I raise and the families who take them home. I believe responsible breeding begins long before a puppy is born, with thoughtful breeding decisions, health testing, veterinary care, and a willingness to stand behind the puppies I produce.

My Commitment To French Bulldog Health

As a French Bulldog breeder, I believe good health starts long before puppies are ready to go home. I begin with my breeding dogs, using genetic testing, veterinary evaluations, knowledge of my bloodlines, and careful breeding decisions when planning each litter.

My breeding dogs receive routine veterinary evaluations and health screenings as part of my commitment to responsible French Bulldog breeding.

Once the puppies are born, their health and development are closely monitored. They receive age-appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations and preventive care before leaving for their new homes.

I also believe the breeder's responsibility doesn't simply end when a puppy leaves. I educate my families about caring for their new French Bulldog and remain available when they have questions about feeding, routine care, development, or life with their new puppy.

My written Four-Year Genetic & Congenital Replacement Guarantee is another part of that commitment. I encourage every family to read and understand the complete Puppy Purchase Agreement and guarantee before purchasing a French Bulldog puppy.

Health Testing Performed on My French Bulldog Breeding Dogs

Health testing is an important part of how I plan my French Bulldog breedings. My adult breeding dogs receive DNA testing for genetic variants associated with inherited conditions relevant to the breed.

I use those results together with veterinary evaluations, my knowledge of my dogs, and the health history within my bloodlines when deciding which dogs to breed. Genetic testing cannot guarantee that a puppy will never develop a health problem, but it gives me valuable information that helps me make more informed breeding decisions.

My genetic testing includes screening for:

I use Embark DNA health testing to help identify inherited genetic variants and make more informed French Bulldog breeding decisions.

Additional Health Screenings for My French Bulldogs

DNA testing is only one part of how I evaluate the health of my breeding dogs. In addition to genetic testing, my adults receive regular hands-on veterinary examinations to monitor their overall health, soundness, and breeding suitability.

Depending on the dog and the evaluation performed, certain health testing may be submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Other health evaluations are performed and documented by my veterinarian as part of the annual USDA and state health examinations my dogs receive.

My veterinary health evaluations include:

  • Hip evaluation
  • Elbow evaluation
  • Patella evaluation
  • Eye examination
  • Heart evaluation
  • Dental examination

What The 4-Year French Bulldog Health Guarantee Provides

My Four-Year Genetic & Congenital Replacement Guarantee begins on your puppy's date of birth and provides protection for four years.

If your puppy dies, or medically necessary euthanasia is recommended by a licensed veterinarian, as the direct result of a qualifying genetic or congenital condition, I will provide a replacement puppy subject to the terms of the written Puppy Purchase Agreement & Four-Year Genetic & Congenital Replacement Guarantee.

My guarantee provides a replacement puppy rather than a cash refund or reimbursement of veterinary expenses. Complete eligibility requirements, exclusions, veterinary documentation requirements, and buyer responsibilities are provided in my written agreement.

My Goal Is Prevention, Not Replacement    A health guarantee is important, but I would much rather you never need to use it. That is why I put so much emphasis on health testing, veterinary care, and thoughtful breeding decisions before a litter is ever born.

When planning my breedings, I consider genetic testing results, veterinary evaluations, what I know about each individual dog, and the health history within my bloodlines. These pieces of information help me make thoughtful breeding decisions with the health of future puppies in mind.

No breeder can promise that a dog will never experience a health problem. What I can promise is that I take the health of my dogs and puppies seriously, make breeding decisions using the information available to me, and I stand behind the puppies I produce with the written Four-Year Genetic & Congenital Replacement Guarantee.
